So what are the 3 levels?
1. All registered psychologists have tertiary education, follow a Code of Ethics and must complete continuing professional development to maintain annual accreditation. Psychology is a highly regulated profession in Australia.
2. Clinical psychology is a speciality field requiring additional postgraduate qualifications, usually a Masters degree from a university, including coursework, clinical training, professional placements and thesis.
3. Clinical psychologists can also complete a PhD, involving an indepth research project requiring an 100,000 word thesis which contributes to scientific knowledge in their chosen field.
